Algebra (Class 47)

Overview
Today we continue our work with Algebraic Fractions by clarifying what is going on when we compare two quantities and how this relates to comparing fractions. We also build up our understanding of the concept and methods for simplifying fractions, developing a general method that we can use for simplifying algebraic fractions
Textbook Sections

Key Attitudes
Mathematics is about looking for patterns.

Key Ideas
When comparing quantities, a common unit is needed.

Key Skills
Converting units
Naming fractions
Finding equivalent fractions
Simplifying fractions
