Key Attitudes
Mathematics is about generalizing and applying patterns.
Key Ideas
Many different shapes can have the same perimeter but different areas.
The dimensions of a rectangle can be calculated from its perimeter.
Graphs and equations help us to make predictions.
Key Skills
Find all of the possible whole number dimensions of a rectangle with a given perimeter.
Calculate the area of a rectangle with a fixed perimeter given one dimension.
