Geometry (Class 86)
Overview
Today is our last class before finals! We made it!!! In class we will continue our review via our warm-up, discuss the details of the final, discuss questions from our last review assignments, and work on using the Law of Sines and the Law of Cosines to solve problems.
Textbook Sections
Supplementary-- Law of Sines and Law of Cosines
Key Attitudes
Mathematics is about looking for using what we know to figure out what we don’t know.
Key Ideas
We have 6 methods to solve triangles.
For right triangles we can use: Pythagorean Theorem, Special Right Triangles, Right Triangle Trigonometry
For any triangle we can use: Proportions, Law of Sines, Law of Cosines
Key Skills
Using inscribed angles, right triangle trigonometry, and algebra to develop the Law of Cosines.
Using the Law of Cosines to solve triangles
Turn-In (#85)
Final Review 6

Geometry Final Exam
Here are the answers to some question about the Final Exam (Geometry) that I could not answer the other day-- had to check with the other Geometry Teachers:
1) Are calculators permitted?
Yes! You are going to need a Scientific Calculator that can do trigonometry.
2) Can we have a “cheat sheet”?
Yes-- but it is a bit different than before. You can have a single side of 8 1/2 x 11 paper with 5 ideas per chapter. No examples! Formulas are OK-- one formula counts as one idea. I will be checking the sheets during the exam and collecting them at the end.
