In today’s lesson we return to solving quadratic equations. This time we learn how to use a different approach based on first turning the equation into a perfect square.
Textbook Sections
§12-2 (Txt. p.564) Completing the Square
Key Attitudes
Mathematics is about generalizing and applying patterns.
Key Ideas
Squares are easy.
A quadratic trinomial is a perfect square if it can be factored as (Ax+B)^2.
